COUNTRY MUSIC ARTIST DENNIS WILSON JOINS CELEBRITIES ON MISSION TO IRAQ

To Deliver School Supplies To U.S. Troops For Children

NASHVILLE, TN—(April 9, 2009) Country music singer, songwriter and recording artist Dennis Wilson (Size 10 Records) has teamed with American Airlines and Operation Iraqi Children (OIC) to perform for U.S. service men and women as part of an elite group of celebrities and entertainers who have embarked on an overseas mission to deliver more than 20 tons of basic school supplies, shoes and other necessities to children in Iraq.

By special invitation from American Airlines, Dennis Wilson was commissioned to perform as part of this special U.S. Department of Defense tour that is scheduled to encompass several cities throughout Europe and the Middle East. The nine-day itinerary will host shows in Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain and Germany. As part of the tour, a special concert will be held for wounded troops at Germany’s Ramstein Air Base and members of the Navy fleet will be entertained with two shows to be staged on the deck of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower stationed in the Arabian Sea.

Surrounded by artists from various entertainment mediums who have lent their time and talents to assist in this humanitarian mission, Wilson will appear on this charitable-giving tour alongside Tony Orlando (“Tie A Yellow Ribbon 'Round The Ole Oak Tree”), actor Stephen Baldwin (“8 Seconds”), Nashville-based singer/songwriter Corrine Chapman, dance team Phil Vandel and Matt Snook (Vandel-Snook from Country Tonite Theatre in Pigeon Forge, TN) and model/TV personality Leeann Tweeden. Mary Jean Eisenhower, president and CEO of People to People International (PTPI) and granddaughter of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, will also be present on the journey.

Founded in 2004 by award-winning actor Gary Sinise (“Forrest Gump,” “Apollo 13,” “CSI: NY”) and best-selling author Laura Hillenbrand (“Seabiscuit: An American Legend”), OIC is a charitable program, administered by PTPI, that enables concerned American citizens an outlet to reach out to war-stricken children by collecting and sending school supply kits and other provisions to Iraq and Afghanistan that are in turn distributed by U.S. and allied military forces.

“I cannot express how thrilled and grateful I am to have been asked by American Airlines to be a part of such an important effort,” says Wilson. “Operation Iraqi Children provides a great service to the families and children of Iraq; I am looking forward to meeting the troops, who have not only dedicated their lives to serving our great country, but also feel compelled to help out in other charitable ways.”

Since its inception, OIC has delivered nearly 250,000 school supply kits (pencils, paper, scissors, glue and crayons), more than half a million toys, thousands of pairs of shoes and backpacks, and over 50 pallets of sports equipment to troops. Dennis Wilson, a chart-topping and award-winning recording artist and songwriter in the Gospel arena, released his single entitled "He Sent An Angel" to country radio earlier this year. The song, a self-penned ballad that is one of nine solo writes on his country CD, CASTLES IN THE SAND, is meeting with applaudable impact with all audiences.

Dennis has enjoyed significant success with such songs as "Can't Live Without You" (the No. 1 debuting single on the CCM Charts from Diadem Records in1996), and "By The Way Of The Cross" which has seen sheet music sales in excess of 100,000 copies and been recorded and released by several artists. In addition, his song "Lonely Tonight" was the theme of the nationally televised show "You & Me" for 15 years.
